From Information to Actionable Intelligence: Adapting Governments to Data Analytics

The governments are experiencing digital revolution that leads to programs to improve the analysis and use of data to propose more effective and efficient public policies. Although many governments recognize the importance of having an adequate data infrastructure, it is not yet reliable enough. Data analysis involves several challenges, and involves technical and organizational changes to implement initiatives that facilitate its exploration to improve public infrastructure, procedures and services. This report presents three case studies that show how data analysis teams can be formed within the organizational structure in the public sector. It also provides a detailed guide on guiding the governments of the region in the creation of data analysis teams that are sustainable, successful and capable of providing public value.
