CCVMS: System for Cold Chain and Vaccination Network Management
Description
Vaccination is an important issue in public health. In order to maintain quality, a successful cold chain management and monitoring is necessary. The CCVMS, System for Cold Chain and Vaccination Network Management, was created to register and monitor vaccination coverage to support the reduction of infant deaths due to vaccine preventable diseases in the State of Chiapas, Mexico.
The system is used to manage the cold chain and vaccinations. For the cold chain, the CCVMS monitors and manages inventory (cold storage, refrigerators, thermostats, spare parts), the status of the chain in real time, manual and automatic temperatures, and a mobile and online maintenance report. For vaccinations, the CCVMS maintains census records as well as a biological registry, a data registry, statistics of vaccine schemes, and analyzes needs.
CCVMS is also responsible for registering incidents in the cold chain. This ensures that health units can report failures within the state network.
