Transformation for the future of social services

Social Digital is an initiative of the Social Sector (SCL) of the Inter-American Development Bank that leverages the benefits of technology to offer more and better social services in five sectors: Health and Social Protection, Education, Labor, Social Security, Migration and Gender and Diversity.

The main objectives of the IDB's digital transformation of the Social Sector are to improve the efficiency of the sector, improve the quality of social services and reduce inequality through digital services.

Digital Transformation

A Public-private collaboration initiative to guide professionals applying digital technologies to development programs. There are nine Principles for Digital Development that are updated over time and designed to help integrate best practices into technology-enabled programs. The IDB joined this collaboration for its work on the digital agenda.

Sociómetro-BID is a diverse dataset of indicators designed to capture social conditions in Latin America and the Caribbean. It includes indicators in five areas: Demographics, Education, Labor Market, Housing, and Income, disaggregated by ethnicity and race (when available) in addition to being disaggregated by gender, geographic residence, education, and income quintile.
