Of the 3 substantive areas of the Hospital (Emergency, External Consultation and Hospitalization), the registration of emergency information was digitized first in 2015. In 2016, the registration of emergency information was digitized. This year, her team started with the digitization of the information record that is reported to the Secretariat of Federal Health of the area of Hospitalization and Short Stay.
Why is the champion passionate about digital health (how did the champion become interested in digital health)?
Since Dannya started working with the generation of clinical data in the Mexican health system, she realized that it lacks veracity. Given the disparity in resources of the different hospital units and a lack of general coordination for the standardization of the information record of public and private units, she believed that this would impact productivity. Furthermore, it would impact planning and budgeting, but also on casuistic for research protocols and projections of morbidity and mortality of the population.
How can we attract more women to work on digital health?
Dannya believes that opening up more work positions that involve digital health management can be a prolific field of opportunity. Big data has been critical for many other industries and in the case of health, it is no different. We know that a nation's economy is directly influenced by the working life of its economically active population and if this population is linked to some pathological condition, such as obesity in Mexico, we will be able to project health care costs and the impact this will have on per capita income in Mexicans , over the next few decades.
