• Sepsis: new approaches in predictor variables.
• Pharmacogenetics of tuberculosis.
• Selection of genetic markers for venous thromboembolic disease in the Argentine population. Construction of risk profiles with diagnostic utility.
• Liver fibrosis: impact of genetic variants related to thrombophilia on the progression of liver fibrosis.
• Antiphospholipid antibodies and obstetric complications.
• Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and bleeding disorders.

What are the champion's achievements in digital health?
Gabriela's achievements are :
• Serving as an advisor to the HEALTH pillar of Covid-19 Information Transparency APP. This 'Think tank' arose from the Hackathon of the MIT COVID-19 Challenge that took place last June 2020.
• Member of the TuneVid19 group that starts from NASA's SpaceApp 2020 innovation incubator program (special edition referring to Covid19), in which an App for cell phones was presented that has the ability to detect alterations in nasal function with potentiality of use during the current pandemic. The primary objective of the project is to obtain a methodology for indirect detection of the presence of Covid-19 from the measurement of acoustic signals between the ear-nose-mouth. Semifinalists in XPRIZE rapid Covid testing, October 2020.
• From the line of research in Tuberculosis Pharmacogenomics emerged the development of a hepatotoxicity prediction test associated with antituberculosis drugs, fast and cheap, in comparison with genomic sequencing (gold standard). We also entered a competition at IncuBAte 2019 (GCBA business incubator) which also allows an incubation of development and we were winners.
Why is the champion passionate about digital health (how did the champion become interested in digital health)?
Gabriela has been working in the health sector for 30 years in a public hospital, where she has organized a group of highly trained professionals with remarkable vision and ethical values. The vision was to generate direct impact on neglected, epidemic or endemic diseases, consolidating projects and publications. In recent years, she has added advanced technology and generated bridges with the technological world and IT. She understands the language about both worlds: health and technology, and she is the bridge that joins both worlds. She wants to innovate, mutate, adapt and take steps that allow her to go beyond our own limit.
How can we attract more women to work on digital health?
Gabriela believes that it is important to generate the spaces of trust within the Hospitals, Research Units. Furthermore, managers need to be more open to change to attract more women to work in digital health. In addition, it is necessary to support those women who are already generating change- examples speak for the two and the contagious effect is achieved.
