The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Fund is a strategic initiative aimed at bridging the gap between workforce skills and labor market demands across Latin America and the Caribbean. Established by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Fund supports private sector-driven, innovative, and scalable initiatives that promote lifelong learning and inclusive economic development. Since its launch in 2019, thanks to the support of Germany and Switzerland, the Fund has financed 29 projects in 16 countries, trained more than 34,000 individuals, and developed 700 skill-based training modules.

The Fund is generating evidence of its effectiveness through impact evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, and monitoring data from a diverse range of projects. Notable progress has been made in relevant skills development, improved educational outcomes, enhanced learning and employment pathways, better labor market results, and demonstrated cost-effectiveness.

Through its evidence-based approach and strong public-private collaboration, the TVET Fund is building resilient, future-ready education systems that empower individuals and strengthen regional economies.
