His policy brief is based on a webinar presented by Luis Alejandro Rivera, Chief of the Pricing Unit at the Dirección Nacional de Medicamentos (National Directorate of Medicines DNM) in El Salvador. The presentation was given on July 2019. Rising prices of medications are a global concern as healthcare expenditures soar and more patients are unable to access the medicines they need. El Salvador has managed to control and lower the price of prescription medicines for both innovator and generic medicines, while maintaining a well-functioning and cost-saving pharmaceutical market.

Ellen Ochoa never dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Still, it became her goal and passion after she studied physics and watched Sally Ride become the first American woman in space. As she progressed in her education and career, the encouragement she received from educators and the opportunities and visibility provided by her supervisors and mentors ultimately pushed her to break through all the glass ceilings into space itself. In 1993, Ellen became the first Hispanic woman to go to outer space and later became the first Hispanic director of the Johnson Space Center.

This information includes not only LinkedIn's hiring rate but also the penetration of skills in various sectors of the economy, two indicators that LinkedIn calculates based on the information it receives from its users. The hiring rate dropped more than 70% at the beginning of the pandemic, and its recovery has been sluggish.
