The Migration Unit works to improve the lives of migrants and their host communities to contribute to inclusive development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Thousands of peoples leave their countries each day in the search of new and better opportunities in other countries of the region. Latina America and the Caribbean are going through one of the most complex migratory processes in their history.

At the IADB we believe that migrants are a vital impulse for Latina America and the Caribbean. They bring skills, talents and innovation to their host countries and are a pillar of the economies of their home countries. Developing integral public policies, that include migrants and promote their full integration in their host countries, they can become an impulse for the recovery of the region.
