Have you heard about the attacks that large companies or banks receive through their computer systems? Do you know how to detect a file infected by a virus? Or do you know security measures to protect a computer or network from cyber attacks?
According to a research by Cyber security Workforce Study (2018), there is a deficit of more than one hundred thousand professionals with skills to protect the computer systems of public and private institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, and it is expected that this deficit will continue to increase.
This course, offered by the Carlos III University of Madrid and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), presents an introduction to cyber security from different aspects of this discipline.
You will learn about what are the main cyber security threats and how to protect yourself against them from a practical approach, which provides the necessary material to understand the attacks better and establish appropriate countermeasures.
Taught by instructors with years of experience in the field of computer security, this course will pave the way to the area of security of professions related to information technology (IT). Students who obtain the certificate in this course will also receive a digital badge. Digital badges allow you to easily share, and more reliably, the skills or knowledge acquired.
