Medic Mobile

  • Medic Mobile is a nonprofit organization on a mission to improve health in the hardest-to-reach communities. They build open-source software that supports health workers delivering equitable care that reaches everyone.
  • Medic Mobile serves as the technical lead and a core contributor to the Community Health Toolkit, which helps health workers ensure safe deliveries, track outbreaks faster, treat illnesses door-to-door, keep stock of essential medicines, communicate about emergencies, and more.
  • MedicMobile's COVID-19 Response Strategy has been centered on accompanying Ministries of Health to understand requirements and challenges, evolving existing digital health systems to support prevention, detection and containment efforts, and coordinating with digital communities.

3 demo apps were built to illustrate the power of the CHT:

  • COVID-19 Port of Entry Screening App
    • The app supports enrollment of all incoming travelers at ports of entry, COVID-19 screening, and follow up for the self-quarantined. Added functionality can include contact tracing workflows.

  • COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test App
    • Based on Antibody(IgM/IgG)test (but can rapidly adapted for different tests), the app is designed to:
      • Help health workers stay safe
      • Improve quality of testing and care
      • Support evolving testing and triage protocols
      • Improve patient follow-up
      • Support Patient education
      • And more

  • COVID-19 Symptom Self-Screening
    • Supports identified at risk persons, and sends out app-based automated daily messages asking for self-symptom screening, automated thanks and educational messages
