RACSEL: Technical Recommendations for Electronic Health Record Implementation

This chapter presents a solid, scalable and replicable reference architecture structure. This structure aims to serve as a reference for Latin American countries that are interested in advancing in Electronic Health Records (EHR) projects at the national level. In addition, the document presents the following steps for a regional EHR.

First, the chapter shows different examples and levels of cross-border data sharing that are currently in use in the world. Second, it marks some crucial technical requirements to reach the cross-border interoperability proposal. Third, the specification of the reference architecture components is presented. Last, the document presents some use cases, about the data to be shared with the iteration diagrams among the raised elements of the architecture.
