Lazarillo is a GPS app for people with visual disabilities. It works by means of voice message directions that provide information on the route through which they travel, facilitating their mobility through the city. With this app, the people who use it are less dependent and get a better direction sense of the environment through which they move around. They instantly obtain information about shops, public transport stops, services and institutions that are around them.

The Inter-American Development Bank and Tulane University's Commitment to Equity Project develop this data visualization panel. The objective is to present a visualization to teach decision makers on the importance of fiscal spending and racial aspects. It shows, in an interactive way, the impacts that different fiscal policies have on population groups, according to the study published in the report “Splitting the Bill”.

The Market Design Approach to Teacher Assignment: Evidence from Ecuador

We study the advantages, trade-offs, and challenges of employing a centralized rule to determine the allocation of teachers to schools. Data come from the centralized teacher assignment program in Ecuador, "Quiero ser Maestro," conducted by the Ministry of Education. Notably, in 2019 the program transitioned from a priority based algorithm to a strategy proof mechanism, similar to the change introduced in Boston in 2005 to assign students to schools.

Education spending has increased significantly in Latin America and the Caribbean over the last few decades and Jamaica is no exception. The country has prioritized education within its policy agenda, with spending consistently above the regions average for more than 10 years. Despite these efforts, closing existing learning gaps between advantaged and disadvantaged students has remained a challenge. This study examines how resources are allocated to Jamaican schools and explores ways to promote equity through adjustments in education spending.
