What are the champion's achievements in digital health?

Sonia Maribel led the development and implementation of MINSAL systems 2007 to 2020. which includes: -Electronic clinical record.-Implementation of electronic clinical record at El Salvador Hospital for the COVID19 pandemic.-Family Token System, used by Community Family Health Teams in Health Reform.-Environmental Health Platform: Health Registration and Import of Food and Beverages, Entomological Surveillance. She is also a member of the Digital Transformation Team in Health Board.

Sonia Maribel works on analysis, design and implementation of information systems in health. She also focuses on management of information and communications technologies, project management, and human talent management.

Why is the champion passionate about digital health (how did the champion become interested in digital health)?

Sonia Maribel is passionate about digital health because information systems are tools that enable health personnel to be more efficient. Also, digital health can improve the quality of work which translates into more timely and efficient care for the population. She says it is satisfying to show that her work serves to facilitate the tasks of health personnel, collaborates in saving lives and bringing health services closer to the population.

How can we attract more women to work on digital health?

Sonia Maribel believes that it is important to acknowledge the experiences of the women in this field, so that others can realize that women can become a leader and support digital transformation in health. Women should encourage others, pass on our experiences to them and support them in their professional development.

What are the champion's achievements in digital health?

Tatiana's achievements include recognition of Innovators under 35 Latin America 2020 from MIT Technology Review in Spanish.
She has experience in the functional rehabilitation of athletes at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She was the winner of a scholarship for Woman Founders in Germany.

Tatiana is an expert physiotherapist in sports injuries and orthopedic rehabilitation. She also is a entrepreneur in digital health for 2 years. She has created an online tele rehabilitation platform.

Why is the champion passionate about digital health (how did the champion become interested in digital health)?

Tatiana is passionate about innovating and empowering people to build a powerful change in the health environment through technology to improve the quality of health services in LATAM.

It's been 3 years since she joined the world of telemedicine while living in Germany. Since then, she has been promoting the concept of tele rehabilitation in Colombia. She is currently the COO and co-founder of HealthPhy, a digital health startup that offers a tele rehabilitation platform that supports the medical professional (that is, the therapist) to speed up the creation of treatment plans at home. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, HealthPhy has been offering free online sessions to professionals who decided to continue caring for their patients, through video calls and videos with therapeutic exercises that allow to complement the treatment at home and make a continuous follow-up for a rapid recovery, not only from patients with musculoskeletal injuries but also from respiratory diseases such as COVID-19.

How can we attract more women to work on digital health?

Tatiana believes that one of the best ways is by supporting women entrepreneurs, which helps inspire and motivate other women to undertake and give more visibility in female innovation and more in the technology space that we all know is dominated by men in Latin America.

What are the champion's achievements in digital health?

Vanessa has worked with more than 100 civil organizations, religious associations and institutions to develop a cooperation network to help implementation of a program of health support to low-income or vulnerable people. Furthermore, she developed a digital onboarding system and programs in health education.

What are the champion's specialties or areas of expertise?

Vanessa works on occupational health, and development of subsidized care programs for chronic patients.

Why is the champion passionate about digital health (how did the champion become interested in digital health)?

Vanessa has been supporting low-income people for them to get their medicines through social benefit supports for more than 16 years. She is passionate about digital health as she saw a chance through technology and social cooperation; that it could address pharmaceutical poverty in various sectors and in populations where technology is not available to many people. She developed an application where organizations enter specific data to develop specific health programs under the needs of the beneficiaries and programs are implemented by these same organizations, developing a social cooperation network in relation to comprehensive health.

How can we attract more women to work on digital health?

To attract more women to work in digital health, Vanessa emphasizes that we should conduct advertising activities of prominent women in the digital health sector. She believes that they can motivate more women who has fear of failure, inequality, and society where women were told "they cannot".
