Meet the champions

Monica's unit was the first unit in Mexico with accreditation in Electronic Clinical Record, that was recognized twice by PAHO as the best practices of Telehealth in Latin America.

Monica works on telemedicine, electronic clinical record, telehealth governance @Health.

Faced with the need to improve and prevent the loss of patient information, Monica implements the electronic clinical records program throughout the state of Zacatecas. She also developed the system of care through Tele robots directed in community hospitals to prevent the transfer from their communities and that these could be valued by specialist doctors within hospitals.

Monica believes that we can attract more women to work in digital health by the dissemination of the achievements that women health professionals make of technology. Also, empathizing women's discipline, courage, character, persistence and academic trainings can help opening the way for more women.

Myrna's achievements in digital health includes:
• Planning and development and implementation throughout the region of an innovative information model for the health model (IS4H), in addition to leadership efforts focused on the development of regional strategies for knowledge management, communication and eHealth
• Coach, strategic advisor and mentor for the process or reengineering of the PAHO Corporate Web 2.0 strategy strategy for the corporate office and all country offices, constantly updated knowledge management system and created social media accounts (Twitter , Facebook, Wikipedia) for the organization.

Myrna is passionate about digital health because she sees digital health as a bridge to close access gaps. Furthermore, she believes that digital health can bring health closer to those who need it most, which she finds as one of the strongest bridges that public health can provide. She also sees that the scope of digital health is infinite, and its power is inexhaustible.

Myrna believes that generating spaces in the academic field that show the possibilities of Digital Health and the integration it has with disciplines such as social development, and mental health would help attract more women to work in digital health.

Natalia is a passionate and proactive pediatrician. She created her own company in 2019. While working on her residency in the United States, she was always thinking about how to offer quality service in Colombia. The company answers pediatric questions to parents by whatssapp 24/7.

Natalia is currently working at Docokids. She is a Pediatrician from Georgetown University Hospital. She is the founder of Docokids and has completed a fellow in Pediatric Palliative Care in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Natalia believes that digital health is a solution available to all parents to solve real-time and high quality doubts. It is a way to apply her knowledge in pediatrics and palliative care that can reach a large number of people.

Natalia believes in the importance of financial support to attract more women as seen in other fields, so that the women can build their start-ups in a sustainable way.
